This is a mixed media mosaic that begins with a very developed substrate.  Intitially, the substrate is painted completely.  The next step is a layering of mosaic smalti, crash glass, and French smalti plates of glass.  Unglazed porcelain is used to anchor the composition and blackened thinset is squeezed onto the canvas from a tube and embedded with Austrian crystals.  The look is very complex and layered with unusual materials.
