Gaia Series, Digital Art, 20"x 20"

Gaia Portrait Series: (Photographs shot using a Nikon D5100 DSLR). Over the past few months I've been working on a collection of panorama images; landscapes that document various aspects of Thailand and its relationship to Buddhism and other religions. Like most projects I start, one is unsure of their direction. They each have a genesis, but evolve in different ways. They contain different proportions of each other, and in some instances combine and evolve as one.

The Gaia (Mother Earth) series is one such example, where two of my projects have merged, to take on their own creative path through the genre of digital surrealism. Dusting off the past and combining it with new work was the basis for this projects evolution. With hindsight it seems natural to take stock and previous imagery to use as the basis for new artwork. Although, in reality, if I was to have set out to create this set from scratch, the task would have seemed an epic undertaking. Thus a reflection of the gravity of creative evolution.

The Gaia series is a work underdevelopment. It is a selection of portraits depicting mother earth and our impact on her.
