Weygand had its brand identity redesigned with the goal of setting them apart as a professional surveyor company, without leaving behind the heritage of 70 years of existence of the company. Additionally, Weygand are open to expanding its services portfolio in the future to other industries, and this has been taken into consideration throughout the redesign process.
The symbol has been based on aerial views of land lots, parcel maps, and the letter W. The main goal with the wordmark was to make it modern and contemporary without leaving behind the heritage of the original logo, especially if we consider the strong brand recognition the brand has locally.
The wordmark has been redesigned using the Klavika Basic typography as its foundation. Klavika Basic is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Eric Olson. It's known for its clean and modern appearance. The kerning has been adjusted for optimal readability, both in small and large settings. The overall style of the wordmark relates very well with the original wordmark while having a new style and feel.
Noto Sans and Lato are well-designed, modern typefaces that are known for both their readability and legibility across various mediums. Additionally, the variety in font weights (Extrabold, Bold, and Regular) provides an effective hierarchy for conveying different levels of information.
Noto Sans Extrabold serves as a strong and attention-grabbing choice for headings it should always be uppercase, while Lato Bold offers a clear contrast suitable for subheadings. Lato Regular, with its more standard weight, ensures readability and comfort for longer sections of body text.
