MLK Day of Service 2024
In honor of Dr. King's legacy, City Year KC has partnered with Sike Style to paint a mural and create a custom display case installation at Pitcher Elementary. The mural theme this year is "Creative City". The mural features familiar elements like crayons, rockets, a microscope, eagle, and buildings in the cityscape. A dinosaur in a lake and a peeking cat add a bit of imagination. Can you find the chess pieces and pizza slice? The custom display case installation theme is "Soaring to Success". Channeling the school's eagle mascot, community and kids, the display is adorned with flying objects, vehicles, and birds of every shape, reminding the students to aim high and take flight.
We're excited for the opportunity to lend our time and talents to a great cause and bring new color and energy to the staff and students at Pitcher elementary.
