Harmonic Sea
The way you can express yourself in music is infinite, this beautiful combination of rhythm, melodies, and harmony can make you feel unexpected feelings, and a song can change your mood, even if you have heard that song a hundred times already.

The Music is the Harmonic Sea.

This is a personal illustration I've made with that in mind, I had this idea at the beginning of last year and put it to life during the festive period, and speaking of it, I wish everyone a great 2024.

Below you can see a little bit more of the creative process.
The sketch

This video shows the process how of turning a thumbnail into a rough sketch with values, this makes my decision-making more intuitive, knowing that there's a balance between the composition and the values.

This is the result of the rough greyscale sketch, since it's a personal illustration I didn't make a refined one, but for my clients I send a more refined sketch, knowing that there may be more people involved in the project.
The linework.
How much I render in ink varies on each piece, For this one I wanted to do most of the depth and texture in the painting process, so I didn't want to block the objects with ink or render the shadows in this step.

Colour Palette
I had one clear colour in mind since the idea on my head, the emerald as a reference to Jorge Ben's work and the sea where I live in Brazil's northeastern coast, in which many beaches have an emerald to turquoise tone.
So the other colours were all chosen in harmony with green, I like to experiment and not to be on a limited palette, although I try to keep it simple.

Values
In the image below you can see the final artwork values in greyscale.
