'Kia Ora'

The stamp design spells out the Maori phrase 'Kia Ora' in the Indian script.

This everyday greeting used here in NZ has a wealth of meaning, most important of all – it means good health and a sincere thanks. This stamp design is a testament to the good health of business relationships that the INZBC has developed between India & New Zealand over the past 25 years. It highlights the rewards that both countries have reaped, hence is a sentiment of reciprocal gratitude as both countries work together towards common goals. By using the common language of business, INZBC has been instrumental in helping businesses achieve these goals. This common language is represented here by expressing a uniquely Aotearoa sentiment in the most widely used Indian script Devanagari (Hindi).

The type has been custom designed from scratch to capture the right aesthetic sentiment while using embellishments reminiscent of 'Korus', which are a common occurrence in Maori arts & crafts. These Korus symbolise new life, growth, strength and peace – which are values that the INZBC has stood by for the past 25 years.

The stamp has a strip of saffron and green on the top & bottom respectively. These colours along with white have been taken from the Indian Flag while the blue & red are from the NZ flag.
