Gold – A Journey with Idris Elba

Gold – A Journey with Idris Elba

'Gold – A Journey with Idris Elba' is a documentary presented by Idris Elba, commissioned by the World Gold Council. It explores the story of gold and how it shapes societies and economies globally.

Produced by Pioneer Production, this documentary marks the second season of the Golden Thread, previously hosted by Professor and Mathematician Dr. Hannah Fry in a five-part series.

AKQA was responsible for crafting the film's branding, global digital campaign, and website. The logo design and digital out-of-home materials were carefully created to reflect the film's theme, drawing inspiration from the interplay of light and reflection found in gold's properties as a metal.
This visual metaphor runs consistently from the logo to the campaign, enriching the film's narrative. As the documentary unveils stories about gold, its sources, and societal impact throughout history, this thematic consistency enhances the visual experience, forging a cohesive and meaningful connection within the film's storytelling.
