Imagined Book Cover 2023

Imagined Book Covers 2023
I’ve decided to challenge myself via #theimaginedbookcover2023
The goal was to illustrate book covers for 7 non-existed books with given titles :)
I’ve decided to do both front and back cover and in collaboration with chat GPT I even come up with description for this imaginary books 🤪
I've drawn all of them in Procreate. It was my first experience to illustrate book covers and it was fun!
The first book cover is ‘One lemon too many’ 🍋
The second day was for ‘Monster parade’
For this one, I’ve been stuck imagining a story for quite some time and then I decided to just relax and had fun with drawing these creatures-monsters and bright colours 🤪
The third one was very personal for me - "A Bucket full of tears"
Since I was a child I’m very sensitive and people used to call me crybaby in a bad sense. I was ashamed of my tears and stopped crying for quite some time when I was teenager to show that I’m strong and I don’t do cry.
When I grow up and started therapy I unlocked my sensitivity and became crybaby one more time and now I know that there’s nothing wrong with tears. Crying doesn’t mean that you’re weak!
Even more crying is a great mechanism to release stress, go through emotions and heal
So, this story I created from the bottom of my heart. I wish more people would accept their emotions and wouldn’t avoid them and shame others for that.
For forth one I came up with the concept immediately.
For me personally it was tough to grow up into fairytales, cartoons with happy endings and then meet absolutely another complicated adult reality
I wish it would be not only fairy tales for kids but also more children’s books that will teach them about adult life, complicated emotions, self discovery
I believe such kind of books would be very helpful for young generation to understand themselves a bit more

I’m into detectives and I wanted at least one book cover from this challenge to be a detective 🕵🏻‍♀️
I've read a lot of detectives in my childhood. My fav was series of books where group of children investigate different cases. Then Sherlock Holmes, of course 😍
I read it all!
I also love old Disney cartoons 🥰
So this one visual a bit inspired by 101 dolmatians 🙌🏻
For this entry I had so much fun 😍
For those who don’t know hoopsnake is a myth mostly spread USA, Canada and Australia
According to folklore, the distinguishing feature of a hoop snake is that it can grasp its tail in its jaws and roll after its prey like a wheel

I decided to put hoopsnake in contrast environment they absolutely sure can’t be in reallity - ski slope 🎿
Meet Hula the fastest hoopsnake on the mountain ⛷️😍
The last entry was not easy for me 😅
I had some concept in my mind but couldn’t catch it fully, so I set aside it hoping I’ll get it during the challenge week
But obstacles on the way didn’t let me do it 😬
As a result, it is not my favorite piece but I think it's cute and could work for little ones 🤪
It was fascinating to participate in such a great challenge!
I enjoyed to create book covers for such marvellous titles 🥰
