Entrybit: Cryptocurrency Investing | UI/UX Design

Overview

Project Duration:
15 November 2023 to 15 December 2023

Project Scope:
Create and execute a user-centric UI/UX for Entrybit, serving as an accessible DeFi platform designed to cater to both novice and experienced users.
Challenge
Develop user-friendly features to cater to beginners in the cryptocurrency space. Some users may lack familiarity with fundamental concepts such as buying, swapping, storing, and selling cryptocurrencies. Additionally, guide users on earning cryptocurrency even during a bear market. Ultimately, the goal is to raise awareness and empower users to optimize their cryptocurrency assets effectively.
Research and Discovery

User Research:
In this specific project, the research method employed is secondary research. I unearthed insights about users by thoroughly reading various reliable resources. Here are the findings:

1. A major pain point is the onboarding flow to DeFi apps - the setup is often complex with downloading browser extensions, managing keys, staking tokens, etc. Users want this simplified to maximize security while lowering barriers to entry.

2. Once onboarded, users require better educational resources and clear explanations of DeFi concepts. The highly technical terminology can be confusing and off-putting. Users expect more transparency into how the apps work behind the scenes.

3.From a UX perspective, DeFi projects must reduce cognitive load and enhance intuitiveness. Features should anticipate user needs versus requiring technical expertise. Designing for more seamless, integrated experiences across the DeFi ecosystem is key.

4. Trust and perceived security is also a major concern. Users want reassurance that apps are audited and their funds are safe. Minimizing risk exposure while still providing expected functionality remains an ongoing challenge.
Research Conclusion
The four cryptocurrency holder personas—Alex, Sarah, James, and Maya—offer a comprehensive view of the diverse landscape within the crypto community. These personas underscore the importance of catering to a wide range of backgrounds, objectives, and levels of experience. From seasoned finance professionals and tech visionaries to newcomers and enthusiastic students, each persona has distinct requirements and motivations. Designing cryptocurrency solutions that are user-centric and adaptable to the needs of individuals like Alex, Sarah, James, and Maya is essential for fostering inclusivity and success in the cryptocurrency realm. By tailoring offerings to meet these unique profiles, businesses and organizations can contribute to a more accessible and thriving crypto ecosystem that serves a broad spectrum of users.
Information Architecture:
Developed a comprehensive information architecture to optimize the structure and flow of the application.
The flow of the app works in a non-linear way, with the information architecture explaining more about data and entity relations rather than hierarchy. However, it also explains workflows within the scope of modules.
Design Process

Stocking
Based on the identified user needs from the research and the app structure outlined in the information architecture, I created a style guide, developed components, integrated them into screens, and conducted initial tests to assess the functionality and interaction of each module on a screen-by-screen basis.
Prototyping:
Developed interactive prototypes for user testing and feedback.

Conclusion

Since this project is not yet live or in beta, I can't provide extensive details on its outcomes. However, a key takeaway from this experience is the realization that plans can evolve, often diverging from the original blueprint. I've adapted to new discoveries and unforeseen scenarios that weren't initially considered during the ideation phase.
Looking ahead, there's a recognition that organizational aspects and the responsiveness to potential challenges need refinement. Applying a structured framework will be essential to maintain consistency in the product and uphold the business's value proposition. Once the problem-solving approach establishes a pattern, I believe a design system will be necessary for further enhancement.
