AWFULLY CHOCOLATE: INTERNSHIP PROJECTS
PACKAGING DESIGN | EDITORIAL DESIGN | GRAPHIC DESIGN | CHARMAINE TOH
AWFULLY CHOCOLATE is a Singaporean company that specialises in high-quality handmade artisanal chocolate products and is also considered a high-end brand for chocolates. The company's most commonly known products are their chocolate mooncakes, chocolate bars and truffles. Though, they make anything chocolate—including chocolate drinks as well.

During my internship, I was able to take part in various campaigns such as Christmas, Deepavali, and Mid-Autumn Festival.
Christmas Collection 2023
I crafted the sleeves for the Holly and Juniper gift sets and personally penned the greeting font. Drawing inspiration from the Cyprus and Cedar gift set sleeves, the design incorporates similar patterns to create various shapes, experimenting with varying line art thickness.
Deepavali Collection 2023
I created the sleeves for the cookie tin and truffle box in the Art Deco style as part of this campaign. The intention is for this festive collection to be part of a series alongside the Hari Raya collection.
The initial concept I came up with was combining Art Deco with scratch art. Since Diwali is the festival of lights, I aimed to reflect this theme in the packaging. The use of the colours against a black background would create the illusion of light.
In the end, it was refined to make it more elegant and classy to reflect Awfully Chocolate as a high-end brand. I switched out the colourful patterns for gold and also used purple as the main back- ground. The design in the middle in also see through to make a distinction from the Hari Raya set.
Mid-Autumn Festival Collection 2023
I was able to take part in various aspects of this campaign and focus more on marketing such as photoshoot styling, photo editing and making promotional materials (brochure, web banners, and store promotional boards).
THANK YOU
