Quick watercolor portraits evoke personality on postcards
Jointly inspired by fashion/celebrity photography and pointilism, this summer personal project was an exercise in portraiture and feeling. Target photos were selected at random, "gut feeling," and those that I thought could be best captured by the medium chosen.
With a pack of textured postcards, simple watercolor kit, and a handful of Q-tips, I was pleasantly surprised by my results. Although some portraits were not exact replicas of the photography, I was satisfied, and in some cases, preferred my postcard.
