Real people + illustrated icons = simple ad refresh

Ad refresh showcases real people and real fun

300 was the high-end bowling brand established by AMF Bowling to elevate the food, experience, and center amenities beyond the "beer and popcorn" alleys of the past. 300 launched in a handful of cities throughout the US. Standard activities like birthday parties and corporate team-building events occurred during the day, and at night, happy hours and adult-themed nights flourished in sophisticated lounges with DJs and gourmet fare. circle S studio created the 300 brand, and issued it through several refreshes in direction and style.

The client needed a refreshed ad campaign, but liked the style and tone of their existing campaign. Upon feedback from the sales teams and center managers, circle S studio launched a fresh take on 300. Showing actual customers, accented with illustrated chalk drawings, having fun, enjoying the amenities offered, and making memories became a successful effort. Concepts centered around the brand amenities of the center and the fun that could be had by all. The client also needed the refresh to specifically promote center events, like happy hours, corporate functions, kids' birthday parties, etc.

Icons and the majority of copy were created by the design team. Print ads were mainly half-page in placement, but additional sizes occassionally occurred. Web banner advertising also reflected the refresh.
The majority of ad placements were half-page horizontal in nature. All creative started in this orientation, with adjustments to imagery, text, and heirarchy altered with each new placement size.
This collection of ads focused on kids' birthday parties, a large segment of the business.
Copy grid created to simplify the ad content used in multiple markets for multiple publications and listings.
This animated button appeared in multiple locations to promote the e-newsletters delivered for each center.
This mobile banner promoted center happy hours, linking directly to the center's location when clicked.
