Hybrid Imagery + Greiman

For this project I was tasked with trying to make a design that could be considered unconventional and fun. The design would be made to serve a sort of book jacket, but that was not the main intent for the design at all. In regards to what little rules or guidelines  I was given, we had to use type taken from a screen that was photographed and very light photoshop edits if possible. You can find some of my progress here on my dropmark folder. I did struggle a lot in the beginning, but I believe it turned out okay.
The design goal here was to create something that was completely random in the placement of hierarchy.
The design goal here was similar the previous caption, being exploration  of no real normal hierarchy in the type. Although what makes this different is there is three pieces of type that are sort of just floating about with no hierarchy applied and I liked that in the end it worked with the design.
This is the full spread of the design and how it would work on a book. I think it looks really good, and as the other two captions. I enjoy this design because of how fun and intriguing it looks and you would think it wouldn’t because it isn't aligned with the background image/type.
