Research & Inspirations
When exploring culture, I discovered the commonalities between Korea and Singapore in their shared appreciation for their buildings, national landmarks, local cuisine, and traditional attire!
Rough Sketches/Ideation
I decided to stick to the food theme because 1 look and you'll understand which country is being portrayed.

Ideas 1, 5, and 6 drew inspiration from hawker culture, yet I found them to be somewhat overused and generic.

Idea 2 aimed to feature Korean and Singaporean cuisine on opposite ends of the card, with text creatively shaped by the steam from the food. However, I couldn't quite connect with this concept.

Idea 3 revolved around a New Year's theme, incorporating Soju and Beer (beverages common in both countries). Although intriguing, it didn't align well with the card's intended family-friendly design.

Lastly, Ideas 4 and 4.5 aimed to highlight childhood snacks from both countries, evoking a sense of nostalgia, which I found appealing to all ages!

Draft 1
I envisioned the card as a Christmas greeting, aiming to evoke the same sense of nostalgia and warmth that childhood snacks bring, much like the homely and cozy feeling of Christmas during the festive season.

But my lecturer felt that at first glance the card doesn't feel like a Christmas card, having the Dalgona Candy stamped with the Christmas tree imprint isn't noticable unless pointed out.
Draft 2
Draft 3
I coloured the Bungeoppang ( Korean Fish Shaped Pastry ) to look more like a candy cane to fit into the Christmas Theme! I changed up the background to a pinkish-red hue and baby blue tone to fit into both countries' weather during the festive season! (Korea's icy winter and Singapore's hot humid weather).
I still had yet to play around with the typography here.
