The brief
As an expansion to the German Gutscheingold family, a new gift card has been requested specifically for casual dining establishments, cafes, and fast-food restaurants. It needs to distinguish itself from the current Restaurant Gutschein, a more sophisticated proposal, emphasising its inclusion of healthy food options. Originally conceived as 'Foodie Gutschein,' the card underwent a survey-driven refinement process, leading to the ultimate selection of the name 'Let's Eat'—a choice reflective of its inclusive and inviting nature.
The approach
In order to showcase the diverse array of cuisines available, I chose to create a set of illustrated icons. Each icon is hand-drawn and intentionally imperfectly coloured, embracing a playful and lively aesthetic. This design approach sharply contrasts with the geometric style employed for the Restaurant Gutschein card. The colour palette selected is fresh and vibrant, featuring a prominent use of green to symbolise the inclusion of healthy dining options. The official launch of the gift card is scheduled for the upcoming year.
