This project was about creating an original, exploratory, non-conforming, bold, poetic, and energetic book-sleeve for Hybrid Imagery by April Greiman. In her book, Greiman describes her design process and the evolution of her techniques. Greiman's work uses unconventional type hierarchy and placement. I included this in my work below that includes non-conforming type placement and orientation. The book-sleeve measures 32.5'' by 12'' with a .75" spine. The background is a photo of a computer screen showing the words "hybrid imagery" placed in InDesign. I edited this image to include a duotone and a halftone. I liked the way the golden yellow and blue interacted in the duotone so I included those colors in the type.
