There is no particular narrative behind this piece. I always wanted to draw a skull- all that tonal contrast *quivers*. And I have enjoyed drawing metal surfaces in the past so a pair scissors was always on the cards. The title actually came after I’d completed the piece. My uncle saw it an exclaimed, “It’s the jolly Roger!”. And I was all, aye!
