𝗟𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝘀. Minerva, Patria, and Maria Teresa Mirabal were three sisters who opposed the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo. They were assassinated on 25 November 1960. Were martyred and became a symbol of strength for women all around the world. The sisters were also known as Las Mariposas, or The Butterflies, to those who were a part of the revolution.
