HSI-Global: Icon Designs

When it comes to creating assets for each brand, at HSI we often create accompanying icons to correlate with each feature of the product we advertise. Just as each brand differs in message, colour and font they differ in icon style too.

These are examples of all the icons I designed under each brand while working for the company with an example of an icon within an asset for context of how they pulled together.

There were existing icon design libraries for most brands but sometimes there would be particular copy that would need a specific icon design to go with it which can be seen in the asset examples.
The style of Livivo is to have a heavy line weight within specific dimensions to fit the asset templates, all lines to be the same weight and to have soft rounded edges.

- The stair basket had collapsible handles
- A sling shaped bookshelf

Wicked Gizmos was by far the most unique of all the brand illustrations, the images created for this brand was supposed to illustrate the selling point of the product and interact/enhance the image instead of being a correlating icon. These images were much more informal and fun, actual illustrations.

To create these we used a specific angled brush setting and would draw in a very loose whimsical style, often the lines would not meet one another and the outcome would aim to look more like a doodle or a scribble. Often we would create accents to over-dramatise features and find ways to make the assets look as fun and attractive to kids as possible. The proportions had to be correct enough so the viewer would instantly know what they are looking at but silly enough that it looks fast and care-free, much like the fun narrative of the brand. The products were mostly aimed at children.
Doodle designs:
- LED lights
- Fish
- Sensory Stimulation
- Seahorse
