Description
It presented a great challenge, as it was the redesign of an entire section of the website that was almost a microsite within, at the same time that the shopping was so dated that mitigating the visual chock on the users and considering the previous experience they had on concluding the purchase became a great handicap. All this, in my early days at Millennium bcp and in my first experince as an UX/UI designer.
Luckly, I was part of a great UX/UI team, alongside a couple of young talented designers and a great mentor, and when talent, knowledge, education and guidance are combined along peers, every challenge becomes easier to be overcomed successfully.
The end result was a brand new shopping section, built with responsiveness at its core, with a modular presentation of the main categories as a landing page and a clean product list page with an hover action showing a secondary image of the product and the purchase button.
Curiosity
By the time the design was completed, had it been developed and implemented during 2016, it would have become one of the first store-type product listing page in the overall of the Portuguese markets to present the possibility of puschasing an item directly on the hover action upon a given product and to show a preview card listing the last added product(s) to the cart with the possibility to access directly to the checkout.
