Assignment 9: Vectored Images
I took this image while on a trip to Ireland, I felt like it would make a good image to vectorize for this assignment because it had the grass I could use to indicate time of year, as well as a lot of sky and ocean to play with the time of day.
First I imported the image into my project, then I used image trace using 6 colors.
I then decided that I did not like how mesy the sky looked, so used the shape tool to make a sky and sea that had similar color distributions but with a cleaner shape.
After that, I moved on to cleaning up my paths to fix some of the speckling throughout and only remove the parts of the sky I wanted to. To isolate specific colors I went to the select window > same > fill color. I then merged the shapes in the pathfinder.
Here is a look onceI had cleaned up the paths and recolored the parts that were out of place.
I was then able to recolor the images by using the swatches window and adding the colors used in the scene. From there, I was able to easily recolor the image by using these sliders.
