Inspired by the views of my Parisian nook, I met up with several rooftop photographers/traceurs - Jacques, Simon and Umood, for this project, to understand what the rooftops meant to them.

"Calm, freedom, adrenaline- it’s another dimension of Paris..."

I climbed the rooftops with them to experience it for myself. The ones that my risk-averse nature allowed me to anyways (and went home to cry out of fear and embarrassment when it didn’t).

I realised how much research, patience and training goes into their missions. I spoke to them about the support of their families (Jacques) and lack of (Simon and Umood).

Simon, as a very experienced traceur, (15 years) chose the « easy access » rooftop that I couldn’t climb in my wildest dreams (hence, the crying incident), so most of my missions ended up being with Jacques, which explains why the series are Jacques heavy.
