DCJE Annual Appeal

In 2002, The Denver Campus for Jewish Education consisted of an upper and a lower school, each in different parts of the city. At the time I worked for them, they were in the process of uniting the two schools on a single campus. They were renovating and adding to the existing lower school building and erecting a new building for the upper school, with the expectation that both would be complete for the upcoming school year.

They wanted their Annual Appeal brochure to highlight their new campus. In addition, they had always had on a cut-out window in their previous appeals; they would paste students' pictures in the window for the brochures sent to parents and grandparents. Brochures for the general public would show a printed photograph in the window.

As it happened, I was also working for an architecture firm at the time, and one of my jobs there was to clean up AutoCAD floorplans and elevations to include in their marketing materials. I used those skills to clean up an elevation drawing of one of the new campus buildings, which I then brought into Photoshop to add color and dimension. I used one of the windows on the elevation as the cut-out, and spaced the images inside the brochure to fit.

I don't have a final printed brochure, so these photographs are of a mock-up.
