Podcast Video Series: The Office Hours

Description: A podcast series where prospective students can listen to insights from professionals and experts in various expertise at Michigan State University. By watching this series, the audience will have the opportunity to take a glimpse into both the in-depth academic and dynamic industry in different domains and be inspired by the Interest, Syllabus, and Advancement sessions throughout the conversation.
Inspiration
Inspired by the format of conversational interview, I desire to create a podcast series where diverse perspective and wide range of experts and professors from MSU can discuss contemporary topics with students. Based on that, prospective students also have the chance to understand and have more profound insights on the classes and people who will teach the classes they take in the future.
Creative Process
Inviting: We start to reach out formally with the professors that we have taken a class with in previous semesters and the ones that we are impressed and would love to have more conversation with. The time setting process takes a lot of time. Some episodes must have been delayed based on the difficulties of setting up suitable time. However, being active engage and communicate have helped our team a lot in reaching out with guest speaker.
Production: We utilized the Canon EOS 90D and EOS 80D and an iPhone as three cameras for filming. For sound recording, Hollyland Wireless Microphones have been used to maintain the best sound.
Editing: The editing part includes the animated introduction (Fresco, Photoshop, After Effects) and formatting the whole video (Premiere Pro). We have developed a trailer for the whole series and a short reel of 1 minute of each episode for the sake of showcasing the general vibe of every episode. I have also learned to enhance my efficiency in editing by exploring the feature Multicam Edit in Premiere Pro.
