Dhaka Metrorail
In 2013, a strategic transport plan was formulated to reduce traffic problems and road congestion in the densely populated Dhaka metropolis, under which Metrorail was planned for the first time in Dhaka. JICA and DMTCL have planned to build a total of 6 metro lines with a length of 128 km by 2030. The network will have 51 aerial stations and 53 underground stations. These six metro lines together can transport 4.7 million passengers daily.
