JetBlue / Van Gogh

Illustrating a post impressionist masterpiece for JetBlue and adam&eveDDB. We were tasked with commemorating the airline's maiden international flight to Amsterdam. The brief, to depict a plane leaving Boston as if painted by Van Gogh. We only had a week.

Boston is known for its oil lamps, so we all agreed that a play on Starry Night was an obvious choice. It helped that the painting was at the Met close by, so we took a company/school trip. Vincent is famously known for his dimensional flowing strokes created with a palette knife. To achieve this, we developed our own hybrid mixed media technique.
