Silkscreen Zurich City Poster

Zurich City SIlKsCREEN Poster

The Zurich City Poster showcases a stunning view of the city, highlighting the historic Grossmünster Church in Romanesque style. This church began construction in 1100 and was completed around 1220.
This limited edition of 100 posters is a product of my collaboration with  Chris Hart, a skilled screen printer whose workshop is conveniently located in Zurich Altstetten, close to my own studio.

The poster is 47 cm wide and 66 cm high, silk screen printed* on a natural white 250g paper using 5 bright manually mixed ink colors. For some time the poster was available for sale in two design-objects stores in Zurich and now the last few posters are available on request (International shipping also possible).

*Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a paper, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. A blade is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures with ink, and a reverse stroke then causes the screen to touch the substrate momentarily along a line of contact. This causes the ink to wet the paper and be pulled out of the mesh apertures as the screen springs back after the blade has passed. One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multi-colored image or design.
