Packaging
Mamee Rawr has three main goals. These include educating children on the importance of reducing our food waste, inciting curiosity in children, and providing opportunities for the younger audience to have fun!
Mamee Rawr continues to build off the Mamee Brand, well-known for its dry noodle snacks. Despite attempting to enter the instant noodles industry, they have been unsuccessful in recreating the same impact they achieved previously. To solve this, we have to revisit what initially made the Mamee Brand popular, the iconic blue monster.
Actions such as breaking the noodles in half, eating the leftover crumbs, and repurposing the top layer of the packaging as a monster mask help draw connections for our children. Communicating that the monster is an icon for anti-food waste, a role model to look up to.
Packaging is broken by breaking down the perforated half. In turn, this also breaks the noodles in two halves acting as a way of rationing the noodles into two portions.
"Food waste is a common issue for children, as many of them are unable to finish a full packet of noodles. To address this, I separated the powder sachet into two packets and added an extra locking mechanism to allow for the other half of the noodles to be consumed at a later date.
Form after breaking down the middle perforated line and sealed using the locking mechanism.
