BACKGROUND /
Introducing Polaroid i-Type Retinex Edition Film – where colour becomes a mind-melting creative force. The story of Retinex begins in the early 1970s, when Polaroid founder Edwin Land, amidst a flurry of research endeavours, patents, and innovations, found time to delve into the enigma of colour constancy. This intriguing aspect of human perception makes your eyes and brain groove in some seriously strange ways.

APPROACH /
The enchanting blend of a 70s-style psychedelic bass and a classical drum set, intertwined with a Sesame Street-inspired melody, transports us to the realm of nostalgic animation. A theremin accentuates the otherworldly allure of the Retinex effect. The symphony of sound effects seamlessly fuses the real and surreal facets of Polaroid’s innovative new film, endeavouring to unite the tangible world with a psychedelic dreamscape. This audio is further enriched by a vinyl warp, imparting a timeless essence, while the subtle, grainy noise injects an added layer of depth, invoking the unmistakable aura of a 70s animated journey.
