Two new prints arrive at our studio today. These nostalgic, imagined designs celebrate the long lost roller rinks of Bangor and Newtownards – BJ’s and Digby’s. Every kids’ Saturday afternoon birthday party always seemed to be happening at one of these venues when I was a boy in the early 80s; when the rollerdisco was definitely the place to be. I have only the haziest memories of both venues and there isn’t a lot of photo evidence I can find online (If you have any photos or stories about with venue, I’d love to hear from you). These prints are currently available locally in Wallhangers Framers on Bangor High Street, but I’ll be creating new prints for the website very soon. I hope you like them!
