Performative Spaces: Personal Exhibit
I was tasked with creating essentially my own exhibition with any topic of my choosing and I decided to go with the story of my life.
The idea was to make a visual representation of the 3 schools I’ve been apart of to represent that journey in my life. So far which were Great Oaks Academy(Green), Fitzgerald High School(Yellow), and CCS(Red)🟢🟡🔴
There were many things that went into this assignment, (shown below).
1)The Road - The Road was a cutout from a giant piece of cardboard in the shape of a U turn that I spray painted grey for the color of the street. (You’ll notice each part of the road there stripes are colored a different way depending on which school is on that part of the road)🛣
2)The Schools - The Schools I mentioned before also representing different stages of my life as well thus having corresponding emoji stickers and little figurines showing me at the time and how I was during that specific stage.🏫
3)Figurines - The figurines are a snapshot of me at that time and place, at Great Oaks Academy(Green) I was essentially a baby that’s why that figure is smaller, at Fitzgerald(Yellow) I was older than I was before so the figure is a little bigger than before, and at CCS(Red) is closer to what I am know which would be closer to adulthood and the biggest figure up to date.👬🏾
4)Emoji Stickers - The stickers basically represent how I was feeling at the time right,
Great Oaks - I was just happy to be there.🙂
Fitzgerald- I was sort of tired and wanted to graduate completely.🥱
CCS - My head is kind of spinning and is completely overwhelmed by the amount of work that needs to be done.😵‍💫
Arrows - Because this was a exhibit my classmates actually had to walk through and observe my project so I just added the arrows to indicate where was the right way to start and where to finish.↔️
