The Earth Overshoot Day
The project focuses on creating a series of posters highlighting the urgent need to maintain the Earth’s biocapacity and ensure that it can provide for our ecological footprint. We’re facing a ‘storm’ of climate change and resource constraints threatening our planet’s sustainability. Therefore, planning and taking action to #MoveTheDate of Earth Overshoot Day is crucial.
For poster designs, I created a set of letterforms to serve asthe headline of the posters. The inspiration for the design of the letter is how humanity has used all the biological resources from the Earth. The letterform — “Earth Overshoot” used an oval as the shape of the letter design, and it was hollowed out to symbolise the resources of the Earth used by humans.
Besides, the poster is used the collage technique to convey the message with impactful visuals. The series of posters are around three on the topic of Reducing emissions, creating more Earth to meet human demand and The issue of the countries that live with an imbalance of resources and income. Through these posters, I encourage people to take action to reduce their ecological footprint and work together to create a more sustainable future for ourselves and generations to come.
