Week 7 Image as Identity

Process:
When reflecting on what my identity is, I thought of the things I love and make me who I am. I instantly thought of my cat, my love of nature, art and green!
Upon learning this, I curated a variety of photos and ideas.
Using a little paint and my cat's paw, I stamped her paw print onto a piece of paper. I followed this technique with the leaf found at the park with my friend. I chose pink to reflect my cat's usual collar colour and green to reflect nature and my favourite colour.
Moving to Indesign, I scanned and cut out each design and layered them.
With the B&W image, I changed the saturation of each layer to develop a grey scale effect which formed a nice contrast between each image.
Finally, I added text that I felt reflected who I am; creative and loving. I wanted the typography to be bold, slightly sophisticated and crisp - I'm a slight perfectionist!

Reflection:
Admittedly, self reflection isn't something I do as much as I should. Tracing and carving a photo of myself is something I didn't exactly enjoy, however, experimenting with different textures and arguing with my cat was definitely an experience.
Playing with different colours, arrangements and layers on Indesign was enjoyable as InDesign allowed freedom of moving images around and changing colours/saturations to create different effects/ finishes.
