illustration project for a children's book cover based on the Papoulas Douradas challenge. the challenge consists of creating a book cover inspired by a suggested fictional title. I developed this cover thinking about a cute grandma who loves to make sweets but with an air of magic and mystery.
When a sweet lady named Grandma Judith, known for her magical skill in the kitchen, is visited by her three grandchildren during summer vacation, an exciting adventure unfolds in the small town of Vila Açucarada. The story begins when Gabriela, João and Pedro arrive at grandma's house, ready to spend their summer vacation.
Everything seems normal at first, with the enticing aromas of freshly baked cookies and homemade pastries filling the air. But soon the children begin to notice strange happenings at Grandma's house. Objects mysteriously disappear and reappear, lights flicker without explanation and enigmatic noises echo in the dark corners of the attic.
Determined to unravel the mystery, Gabriela, João and Pedro embark on an exciting journey of investigation, where clues hidden in old recipes, old family diaries and the help of curious characters from the neighborhood lead them to a surprising revelation.
