Abusive payments
Abusive terms are often entered in the reference field when a user chooses to deliberately offend the payee — these words cause huge distress to recipients and can be deeply offensive.
Working in close collaboration with the engineers to craft a solution that links to words from a banned list of abusive terms – this great new initiative prevents people from entering references that could potentially cause offence to a payee.
The solution designed offers protection to innocent customers from receiving abusive references which will now be prevented as part of this project – the malicious user receives an intervention in an app or Web journey on their outgoing payment in this journey.
Whilst the industry finalizes the requirements for FSOs, these are ‘no regret’ changes that we can be done now to help protect our customers and to start with in outgoing payments.
