Progress! is an educational board game designed to introduce pupils to some of the ideas behind Marxism.

Pupils play as either a red ('Marxist') or gold ('Capitalist') piece and both aim for different outcomes as they race around the board collecting workers - either 'liberating' them to join their revolution (red player), or employing them in their factories and offices (gold player).

In the middle of the board is the class structure with rich capitalists at the top and workers at the bottom. Once they have enough workers, the players aim to either ascend to the top of the structure (gold player) or, in the case of the red player, remove the class divide in the middle of the structure and send the structure toppling, creating a classless society.

The game is designed to be used as part of a lesson that introduces pupils to the ideas behind Marxism and Communism before they learn about their role in history. After the pupils play the game in pairs or small groups, it can be used as a starting point for a class discussion.
