「凳子是什麼？」

為了不被既有印象侷限，需重新思考產品本質，幫助我們在設計時做出合適的取捨。

"What is a stool?"

To avoid being confined by existing impressions, it's necessary to rethink the essence of the product. This assists us in making appropriate decisions during the design process.

不論是椅或凳，皆是「一特定的結構，支撐一具一定高度的表面，用以支撐人的屁股、維持坐姿」，目的是避免人與地面（髒）直接接觸。而兩者之間的差異又在於其發展下使用情境和功能導向的不同，凳之於椅更著重在滿足靈活、便利甚至高度合適踏上的需求，反之久坐的舒適性就不會是在設計一張凳子時的主要考量，這也是「凳子沒有扶手和靠背且通常較矮」這項觀察背後的脈絡。

Whether it's a chair or a stool, both entail "a specific structure that supports a surface at a certain height to accommodate a person's seating posture", preventing direct contact with the (potentially dirty) ground. The distinction between chairs and stools lies in the contextual usage and functional orientation stemming from their development. Stools, in comparison to chairs, emphasize flexibility, convenience, and suitability for perching. Conversely, the extended comfort of prolonged seating isn't typically the primary concern when designing a stool. This underlies the observation that stools are usually armless, backless, and often shorter.

於是我產生了一個點子

「如果是一張會滾動的凳子呢？」

擴大凳子靈活的優勢、更省力、更有趣.. 別搬了，用滾的吧！

So, I came up with an idea.

“ How about a rolling stool ? ”

Amplify stool's flexibility, more efficient, more fun.... Don't lift, just roll!

在居家空間內，「安靜滾動」的概念源於日常生活中觀察到因凳子搬動及取置時造成的噪音及不便，滾動的特性除了趣味性外，也實現更加靈活、便利的空間利用。

In a home setting, the concept of "quiet rolling" stems from observing the noise and inconvenience caused by moving and placing stools in everyday life. The rolling feature not only adds a touch of amusement but also enables more flexible and convenient space utilization.

加入模組化概念，除了製造程序上的優化外，也提供更彈性的使用和個性化配色的選擇。簡單的組裝結構連家中的兒童都能輕鬆拆裝，再透過滾動移動凳子，創造具安全性的互動價值。

The modular concept not only optimizes the manufacturing process but also offers greater flexibility in usage and personalized color choices. With a simple assembly structure, even children at home can easily assemble and disassemble. Through the rolling feature, the stools can be moved, creating interactive value with a focus on safety.
