I miss the old logo for Correios, the national postal service of Brasil.
It just combines the sense of a classic retro feel with a postmodern industrial look that just used to be perfect to represent a nation-wide postal service. I especially love the iconic "R" and "E" and the deconstructed "S" of the wordmark.
As a small personal project I used the wordmark as an inspiration to create a complete custom type for the Correios, trying to design every letter with the same personality and feel of the original letters. And finally, I made a few mockups to see how it could work in the real world.
I believe the final result really works to transmit the design and personality of the original wordmark and this was simply a fun exercise of type and letter design.
