GEOMETRIC INSPIRATION
When I started working on this project for the Chinese firm GradoDesign I was asked to design a glass reed diffuser. We decided to go for a geometrical shape and, after some sketches and research, we we found the interesting Gougu Theorem, an old sketch that was found in a Chinese book from around 2000 years ago which demonstrates graphically the Pythagorean theorem.
Following the lines of the grid on this sketch we created the final shape of this reed diffuser.
The final product is made in mouth blown glass and it is presented in opal, transparent and dark grey glass

MOUTH BLOWN GLASS IN DIFFERENT FINISHES
The Geo reed diffuser is presented in three different finishes: clear, opal and grey glass, so it can fit with many different environments.
DESIGN PROCESS OF THE GEO REED DIFFUSER
Inspired by the sketch from the Gougu Theorem, the geometric shape of the Geo glass diffuser was born. After the first idea, several models and mockups were built to test the proportions before reaching the final result.
