The complex illustration on the bottle label was hand drawn by Kerby Rosanes. The illustration depicts the greater culture, geography and energy of our community here in Bend, as well as the story and culture of Humm Kombucha. From a distance this art looks like nothing more than a colorful pattern, but as one picks up a bottle you get to discover hundreds of happy elements.
The custom bottle design process was amazingly fun and challenging every step of the way.
I painted over 50 versions of humm to explore how the wordmark might convey the energy and vibration that is part of this vibrant brand's ethos. The final result is bold and punchy enough to work well on the bottle labels, but still loose and human enough to not let go of the brand's earthy roots.
These fashion forward apparel designs have been a huge hit in the community.
