About Jyotirlinga and Shravan Mass Celebration There
The twelve Jyotirlinga are the 12 most important temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. These are the temples in which Lord Shiva was seen through the form of his Lingam form. The temples include Somnath, Mallikarjuna, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Vaidyanath, Bhimashankar, Rameswaram, Nageshwar, Kashi Vishwanath, Trimbakeshwar, Kedarnath and Grishneshwar. In the whole Shrawan Maas and particularly on Mondays, they're populated by thousands of Shiva devotees. Fairs, yatras, and extravagant Pujas and Yagnas take place in this place as devotees offer prayers to Shiva with a lot of enthusiasm with fanfare, fervor and devotion.

Kanwar Yatra

Kanwar Yatra Kanwar Yatra is a traditional ritual performed by Lord Shiva devotees who are referred to by the name of Kanvarias in the month of Shravan Maas in the North of India. In this Yatra devotees gather Gangajal (water from the holy river ganges) from Hindu sites of pilgrimage like Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri and Sultanganj in pots and take the pots on foot to important Shiva temples like Kashi Vishwanath, Baidyanath, and Deoghar by walking for hundreds of miles and chanting of "Jai Bhole and 'Jai Shambhu'. After reaching the temple, they give this water for Shivling in the temple, referred to as Jal abhishekam. The Yatra has grown in importance over the past couple of years, and has become one of the largest Indian annual religious festivals with an estimated number of 12 million people.

Shravani Mela 

In the Shravan Maas, the Shravani Mela is now an important event that takes place in Deoghar, Jharkhand. The mela, which is held every year for a month, takes place in the Baba Baidyanath Temple, Deoghar hundreds of Shiva devotees gather Gangajal of Sultanganj and present it to Baba Baidyanath Dham. Baba Baidyanath Dham which is about 100 km away.
