Recently worked on the visual identity of Fete de la Musique in the Philippines for 2023.
“This year's theme, MerSea, is a portmanteau of the French words 'mer' (sea) and 'merci' (thank you). Fête de la Musique sets sail on a monumental voyage, merging the power of music and art with a passionate advocacy for marine conservation.”
Based on the advocacy and theme for this year, we came up a hand-drawn illustration connecting the sea to music and showing the beauty and marine biodiversity of the Philippines. This theme is also applied to the typography, with a fun font being behind waves of water. This is the first time that the materials for Fête dela Musique are not limited to the colors of the French and Filipino flags, which is to say that the conservation of marine life is a global responsibility.
