Have you ever dreamt of skydiving but got held back by the fear of heights? Well, that's exactly where Kent Skydive VR steps in. 

I was approached by Kent to create something exhilarating for festival-goers - a VR experience that captures the essence of skydiving, minus the risk. 

The moment you're harnessed into our specially designed rig, your feet part from the ground and you're off on a skydiving journey, all without leaving the comfort of solid earth.

Creating Kent Skydive VR was a wild ride, sort of like a behind-the-scenes skydiving adventure. First off, we had to capture the skydiving visuals - so we had to get our hands dirty building a custom 360 camera rig tough enough to handle a freefall

But the real fun started when we began working on the simulation booth. We wanted to replicate the feeling of freefall, so we got a harness, built a booth around it, and added a hefty fan for that wind-in-your-face feeling. 

The real trick was syncing the physical and virtual parts. When the VR skydiver takes the leap, the booth's floor drops out, leaving you hanging in the harness. Once the VR parachute opens, you're hoisted upright with handles that move like the real deal.

Every single bit - from the hydraulic system to the Arduino syncing unit - was a labor of love from our awesome team. And guess what? It paid off big time! The whole set-up was a hit, giving festival-goers a skydiving thrill they won't forget anytime soon."
