"Warm Up Pittsburgh" is a concept for a charity program my mother and I plan on starting soon. Everyday since I started working in the Strip District, I would see people sleeping and living underneath the one bridge on my way to work and back. I felt bad at first, but then when winter hit, I felt horrible. Knowing these people had nowhere to go when it was hitting negative temperatures really hurt me. It made me feel blessed to have a warm home to live in, but spoiled, because these people had only tents. I really wanted to help them.
I brought this situation up to my mother, and she felt the same way. So, we decided to plan a movement to try and keep those in need warm and safe from frostbite. Thus began the creation of "Warm Up Pittsburgh". We hope this becomes successful and motivates people to help those around them.
