VERACITY

Veracity - truthfulness, factual, transparency
We want to create some transparency about the the complexities and inner workings of technology and AI. We want to provide an experience that is factual, yet approachable; encouraging all to learn and question technology that affects every aspect of their lives.
We want to show that A.I. learns the same way humans learn. Thus, we have broken down each deliverable into each stage of the process.
Sense (Alert to the issue) > Learn (Learn the issues; how the issues occur) > Adapt (Adapt thinking; learn the patterns of A.I.) > Execute (Linking feature that prompts others to take action)
“The Fragility of Human Rights Facing AI”
Newspaper breaks down the issues of AI in a more approachable and accessible way. The design is chaotic and in some parts hard to read/jumbled to represent the complexities of algorithms used to track our data. Newspapers are used in this project because they best promote person-to-person connection, community-building, and accessibility.
The Veracity website will showcase how profiling and bias effects you and your community. The website features an interactive map on surveillance in your area, Action and Petitions to ban AI as tools of oppression and racism. To promote the viewer to take action, our “homepage” and “map” will link to our petitions to ban AI as tools of surveillance, oppression, and racism.
Concept: The website’s homepage will be interactive with glitch hovers and image pop-ups. Like the newspaper, the website is complex and overwhelm similar to how it is like trying to understand artificial literacy and algorithms.
