Generative 3D & sea creatures
This project was born in 2019 to satisfy my personal curiosity about the parametric generation of 3D geometry through code using OpenFrameworks, and in ended up being a collection of models that resemble alien sea creatures or plants.

Adding complexity
It all started with a simple experiment with code. Models were generated as a tower of polygon-filled rings, whose position, width, and color were determined by three-dimensional Perlin Noise.

Then I made a grid of them and tweak different parameters like scale, rotation and polygon count.

I exported the result as .ply models, because these can stores vertex color information, and then I imported them in to Blender for some more magic.
By that time I used the models for a typography project, but that is for another day.
