Tennessee Locations Sticker Set
The Idea: Throughout the last couple of months I have been creating different projects and for this next one, I created a set of stickers. The set of stickers I created were location based. I started with Tennessee and then went through places I had been within the state. I decided to stick to three locations within the state and I ultimately decided to eliminate Nashville because that is a popular location and gets overused especially in stickers which is something I had seen when visiting. The three locations I picked were Franklin, Leipers Fork, and Gatlinburg; which is where the Smoky Mountains are located.
First Draft
Here is an outline of my original draft. You can see I started out by using basic shapes and simple buildings which I created based on images I found and had taken myself when I visited these places. Something I did with my first draft and even in the sketches I did, was limiting myself to a bounding box and putting the elements into basic shapes like circles, squares, and triangles.
Using References
Something I did to help my process was take a handful of reference photos from each location and molded elements from each image together to create the final product in a way that felt cohesive and had good flow, while still looking like the location in a style that isn’t realistic.
Final Sticker Set
Below is the final set of stickers which I created. I tried to keep some of the colors consistent throughout all of the stickers and even keep the style similar in all three stickers so the set felt cohesive and could be purchased in a set or that if someone saw them in a gift shop that they would feel like they fit together and would consider purchasing all three stickers.
