20th Millennium Docs Against Gravity
The Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival is the biggest film festival in Poland. The 19th edition of the festival in 2022 was the most popular film event to be held in Poland, with the audience of over 138 thousand people. It is the only European film festival that takes place in 8 cities at once: Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdynia, Poznań, Katowice, Lublin, Bydgoszcz and for the first time in Łódź.
Millennium Docs Against Gravity made watching documentaries fashionable in Poland. The methodically developed, appealing programming of the festival attracts growing numbers of attendees.
DOC Alliance on MDAG
This year's edition was a special anniversary one. The main challenge was to build a visual narrative that will be consistent across print and digital platforms centered on the films presented at the festival. We wanted to show the progressiveness that lays in the DNA of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity but also the respect for all that organizers have achieved in the past 20 years.
The main key-visual presents Alisa Kovalenko, one of the directors featured at the festival. We wanted to show support for Ukraine during this hard times. The focus lays on the eyes of our heroine - the important tool of every good filmmaker. She looks with hope for the calmer, better future.

The theme of this year's edition of MDAG is "Thou Shalt Not Be Indifferent" and refers to the famous speech of Marian Turski - acknowledged Polish historian.
We created a graphic system for all the communication to be consistent. Both in digital and print. A simple idea inspired by a single film frame, video editing timeline and a movie theatre screen itself. All empowered with bold and fresh colors influenced by the sky and the rising sun.
Over the course of the design process
we have generated over 2500+ project files.
During the festival there was a special series of events called MDAG INDUSTRY.
To distinguish it from the main graphic line we have changed a few things. Thanks to that the audience was not confused when choosing the right agenda for themselves.
The last chapter of the 2023 MDAG festival took part online. Audience could access the selected films via mdag.pl platform. We have made slight alterations to the original design system for even more intelligibility.
