URP: MAPA PRISTUPACNOSTI
URP is a non-profit organization, established in the early 2010 and gathers recognized individuals and organizations advocating for the development and implementation of accessibility standards in order to create an environment that benefits all people. Organization is situated in Belgrade with three full time employees and more than a dozen associates with various relevant professional backgrounds.Individuals and organizations engaged in URP are also active members of the European  networks - European Concept for Accessibility Network (EuCAN) and the European Institute of Design for All (EIDD-Design for All).  URP is committed for implementation of the concept Design for All, which is the professional support for designers and architects with the aim that public space, buildings, services, products and services are planned in a way so that they can be used by everybody, regardless of physical, sensory, intellectual, social characteristics or age.
URP has been involved (on consultancy level) in a number of processes of drafting strategic documents and policy papers concerning accessibility and rights and needs of people with disabilities, during last several years. Latest example is recently adopted Rulebook on Technical Standards of Accessibility. Initiative to draft and adopt this document was launched by the National Organisation of Persons with Disabilities, the Living Upright Centre, the Centre for Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities and the Accessibility Audit Association in Serbia. The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit supported the initiative, as well as the development of the implementation monitoring mechanisms.
Since its establishment up to now, URP was a part of several projects, individually or in a partnership with other organizations: Network of Towns and Municipalities for All in Vojvodina (2010), Knowledge against discrimination of people with disabilities (2010), Raise ramp (2011), Study about Accessibility of the on-line Human Right Education Resource Centre of Council of Europe - Compass (2011), Equal opportunities (2011-2012), Without barriers (2012), Academy for deaf or hard of hearing people (2012-2013), Creating a database of accessible public facilities and social services for people with disabilities under the responsibility of the local government in the Republic of Serbia (2013-2014).
One of the URP`s permanent activities is the Accessibility Map (www.pristupacnost.info,  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rs.hakaton.mapa.pristupacnosti) -  smart phones` and web application which allows users to check their surrounding for (in)accessible objects as well as to add new ones. This tool is being developed since 2011 and its growing database currently holds more than 5000 public buildings and spaces across the Serbia.
We are also the initiators of project “Orijentir”- Interactive City Guide for All. “Orijentir” is conceived as innovative software for mobile devices in format of accessible city map whose scope is to provide solutions for better accessibility for people with visual, cognitive, mobility and hearing limitations. This accessible application will be used as an assistive technology to guide from a point of origin to a destination by using of metropolitan/public transport and/or pedestrian routing and by providing optimal and accessible routing and orientation by GIS (Geographic Information system) and GPS (Global Positioning system). It will try to improve freedom of movement of persons with disabilities. The project should be developed with a support from Spanish partners who developed application OnTheBus (http://www.onthebus-project.com/).
