The identity is based upon the Arabic word; Danat, the plural of (Dana) pearls, a rare and uniquely formed large pearl. The shell symbol was specifically drawn and coloured to reflect a form of seashell or Mollusc shell found locally in the United Arab Emirates. Placed within the interior grooves of the shell is the Danat pearl, positioned directly above the shell beak. The Arabic typeface was hand-drawn and a complementary English typeface selected.
